Floor placement
Sub on the floor in front of the dance area. Against a wall couples cleanly; corners produce huge but inconsistent bass nodes — avoid corners for a dance-floor gig.
Stack a top above with a sub pole
Sub pole between sub and top puts the top at ear height on a single footprint. On-axis throw, less stage clutter.
XLR signal chain
Mixer/controller → sub IN, then sub THRU → top IN. The sub handles the crossover for you on most modern powered subs.
Power on the sub LAST
Sequence: controller → tops → sub. Reverse on shutdown. Prevents low-frequency pop into your cabinets.
